At Cersaie 2023 Casalgrande Padana presents Pietra Tiburtina, a reinterpretation of Travertino, a stone full of memory, suspended between history and modernity

And now, Casalgrande Padana’s new Pietra Tiburtina collection pays tribute to travertine and its role in world architecture with four shades replicating the original ones.

These four shades come in two versions, cross-cut and vein-cut, depending on the slab’s cutting technique, resulting in different patterns, even from the same slab.

The vein cut version features wavy horizont al streaks, which disappear in the cross-cut version, leaving room for irregular cloud-like effects.

The four shades of the Pietra Tiburtina collection include the classic cream colour (Aventino Cross and Aventino Vein), light pink background and veining (Palatino Cross, Palatino Vein, Campidoglio Cross, and Campidoglio Vein), and darker pink (Celio Cross and Celio Vein).

Four finishes

In addition to the regular tiles, the collection includes mosaic decorative tiles (consisting of 5×5 and 5×15 cm pieces installed on 30×30 cm sheets), trims (including skirting tiles), steps with anti-slip grooves, stair treads with front nosing, and the assembled corner trim (4 mm thick).

Cross, Palatino Vein, Campidoglio Cross, and Campidoglio Vein), and darker pink (Celio Cross and Celio Vein).

Casalgrande Padana’s new Pietra Tiburtina collection is available in the vein-cut version, which emphasises the lengthwise layers of limestone, and the cr oss-cut version, which highlights the subtle cloud-like effects. Both versions combine stone’s charm and porcelain stoneware’s sturdiness.

Delicate earthy shades, beautiful streaks, and a three-dimensional play of light and shadow give these tiles a texture full of cha rm and elegance.

A tribute to travertine’s beauty and potential that becomes a canvas for architects and interior designers to unleash their creativity. The Pietra Tiburtina collection draws inspiration from the finest types of travertine in nature. It comes in four colours (Aventino, Campidoglio, Celio, and Palatino) and various formats and finishes.

The 120×278, 120×120, and 60×120 cm formats are 6 mm thick and have a natural or smooth finish. Conversely, the 60×60 and 30×60 cm formats are 9 mm thick and have a natural, smooth, or anti-slip Grip finish. The 60×120 cm format has a natural, smooth, anti-slip Grip, or ribbed finish. The 60×120 and 60cx60 cm forma ts are also available with a 20 mm thickness and an anti-slip finish, allowing them to be i nstalled outdoors directly on sand, gravel, or turf and be walked on immediately. Finally, the 30×30 cm mosaic tiles (with 5×5 or 5×15 cm pieces) are available in all four colours with a natural or smooth finish.

They also have excellent flexural strength and are easy to lay and clean. Casalgrande Padana commits to a circular economy. As a result, all its porcelain stoneware tiles are made solely with natural raw materials through a closed-cycle manufacturing process in which sophisticated anti-pollution equipment allows all the components to be recycled and reused with substantially zero emissions or dispersions.
