House NB: a porcelain stoneware dream home

Casalgrande Padana’s tiles decorate the floors of House NB in Poland

House NB is an architecture and interior design project by architects Anna and Krzysztof Paszkowski-Thurow from Anna Thurow Architecture and Interiors. This house – consisting of three volumes that define its layout – was built on the last plot of land available in a fully urbanised area in Szczecin, Poland. While its modern features deliberately contrast with other local buildings, the façade’s texture and colours create a dialogue with the surroundings.

Although it almost seems inaccessible from the roadside, the house opens towards the garden. This garden follows the shape of the building and extends into the interiors through a fully glazed patio and sliding window walls, creating visual continuity between interiors and exteriors.

The interiors are emphasised by the texture and muted and neutral shades of high-quality materials used.

For example, the floors (205 sq.m) are made with Casalgrande Padana’s large-format porcelain stoneware tiles (90×90 cm, 120×120 cm, and 120×260 cm) from the Architecture and Pietre di Sardegna collections. In addition, they perfectly express the architects’ style and the house’s modern aesthetic, where open-plan spaces flow between the “blocks” containing the family members’ rooms.

Architecture is Casalgrande Padana’s collection of full-body vitrified porcelain stoneware tiles that stands out for its wide range of sophisticated neutral colours. Available with a natural or polished finish, these floor and wall tiles are perfect for the interiors and exteriors of contemporary, minimalist, or industrial chic projects.

Pietre di Sardegna

Stone’s charm has inspired this collection of porcelain stoneware tiles whose shades and veining add timeless elegance to any space. Pietre di Sardegna tiles are only 6 mm thick and come in different formats (120×120 cm, 120×240 cm, 120×278 cm, and 160×320 cm). They are ideal for walls, worktops, and floors, especially in the event of underfloor heating. These rectified stone-effect tiles come with a natural finish for interiors and an anti-slip finish for exteriors to create harmonious uninterrupted surfaces. The version of Pietre di Sardegna tiles with a 20 mm thickness is ideal for tiling terraces, patios, verandas, and turf or gravel walkways.
