On May 25, Borzalino officially opened its doors in Abidjan, exclusively at Phenicia – Vivez le Comfort. Phenicia is one of the undisputed market leaders in the Ivory Coast for everything related to the home environment, as well as a partner of Borzalino for over 12 years.

The project to open a showroom entirely dedicated to the Borzalino brand was born in September 2022. In just six months, thanks to a perfect synergy and combined efforts of both partners, the plan was successfully realized.

The space

The showroom covers an area of more than 100 square meters and consists of 6 distinct rooms defined by a natural and light palette, where cream, taupe, cognac and straw colors prevail, with a few more flamboyant accent points.

Sofas, armchairs, chairs, tables, coffee tables, bookcases and mirrors have been combined with the aim of immersing visitors in the Borzalino mood and let them imagine the Living of their dreams.

The used materials are Borzalino most iconic ones, such as the Sequoia leather that, with its unique cloudy nubuck effect, covers Taylor armchairs in straw colour, Lisa armchairs and Eclipse mirror in sugar paper blue.

Novel materials and coatings

Borzalino’s classics can be seen not only in upholsteries, but also in finishes: for example, Blue Island veined marble on Dorian table and Shield coffee tables, or Canaletto walnut wood for Gordon and Nima bookcases.

However, the brand also brought new, intriguing materials to Abidjan. An example is Vanilla, a water-repellent leather with a silky touch, that can be discovered in two of the living rooms, dedicated respectively to Ayton and Martin sofas.

Another interesting novelty can be seen among stones: Pietra Pece, used in Brock coffee table, is a Sicilian calcarenite that has unique chromatic variations and the presence of fossils and veins.

Opening party

The inauguration took place on May 25 with the first major event organized by Phenicia in its showroom, this to underline the importance of bringing a totally Made in Italy brand exclusively to Abidjan.

A project studied in detail and of great impact, in the presence of all guests, including prominent national figures such as the Minister for Integration, the Minister for Finance and the Lebanese Ambassador in Abidjan.
