“Details are not details. They make the design”, said the great Charles Eames. A sentence that perfectly expresses BELT, the sofa by Borzalino presented during the Salone del Mobile 2022. The heart of the new project of the Tuscan company is, in fact, just in one detail: a leather belt. An element that finds inspiration in the ancient tradition of Tuscan leather goods.
Softness and rigour
As an accessory it’s essential to define a look and enhance a silhouette, the belt here is the detail that gives personality to the whole BELT sofa. In this case, to be wrapped is the base of the sofa, where the belt is fastened with the use of magnets. A simple coupling system that allows to easily set and remove the belt according to the atmosphere you want to create.
Precious materials and handicrafts
As every Borzalino product, the BELT sofa is made with fine materials and skilled craftsmanship. The structure of Belt is made of plywood and solid beech frame. The seat and back padding are in polyurethane foam totally covered by a cap in 100% European feather and can be covered with a wide choice of fabrics and leathers of the highest quality. The iron plate can be painted in different colors. The belt is in leather, available in all leather samples of Borzalino. The sofa can also be made in a more traditional version without belt or iron plate.
Belt is a sofa characterized by a double embrace: a curved metal plate welcomes the soft padding and a leather belt that wraps around the entire composition embellishing its grip. Belt is at the same time an intimate and sumptuous seat, which gives its best when the human body interacts with it.
